"I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!” John 15:11 NLT

There are days when you are just going about your day and someone gives you a rude reply, cuts you off while you are driving or just take out their frustrations on you. Isn’t that just the worst? One day I was having a pretty great day, I was going about my day and someone made a completely unnecessary comment to me that made me want to lose the joy that I had all morning. I stopped and reflected on what had just happened and in my mind I said no, I am not going to let her steal my joy. I believe that if you are living your best life no one should be able to come into our lives and steal our joy. If we let people continuously affect us and how we are feeling then they will be continuously stealing your joy, the joy that God has bestowed in your heart. That persons comment to me was absolutely uncalled for, it was rude but I didn’t let it get to me. I was having such a great day and was happy and cheerful. I woke up that morning ready to cease the day and I am not a morning person so that was something new for me lol. I was not going to let the whole day go down the drain and remember it as the day she made that comment to me. Instead I made a choice to not let her steal my joy and remember that day as the day I pushed through and remained joyful. It defiantly is not always easy, people are not always nice, let’s be honest. It can be hard to not take things personally but what use does it make. Are we going to hold a grudge over something so insignificant when God allowed us to wake up another day? I personally don’t think it’s worth it. So next time you may find yourself in a bit of a difficult situation, talking to someone that needs a bot of an attitude adjustment, remember to choose joy. It is the smallest of actions that can make a HUGE difference in your day and overall how you live your day to day life. So choose joy and you will see the difference it makes in your life.
