So I have mentioned before that I work for a Christian Church. I can definitely say that I do not take what I do for granted because it truly is a blessing. I get to have a workplace that is Christ centered and prayer is something that is highly encouraged and practiced. I can not say it enough when I say I love my job. Having the opportunity to work with other Christians, Pastors, leaders and directors is something that is so amazing because I get to learn from them so much and then apply it myself. No, not everyone works in a Church but that doesn’t have to stop you from having the power of prayer in your daily life. Every Thursday we have what we call 10 at 10. 10 minutes of prayer with the present Church staff for 10 minutes. What if we all just took 10 minutes out of our day to pray? What difference do you think it would make in your life? I know there might be someone out there that may think well maybe none, I haven’t done it before and I have made it this far. Well not necessarily, prayer, even that smallest of prayer, young or old, is heard from God. No matter what you are going through, who you are praying for, your prayer does not go unheard. So try taking 10 minuets out of your day and see the difference it can make in your life. Trust me, once you let go of your worries and give them to God you will feel a HUGE weight lifted off your shoulders. At times we try to control everything in our life but let’s be realistic that is impossible. There are things that you can not control, you cannot do or just simply can not execute. There is so much that we bottle up and try to control, we even quite possibly try to control our day. I have found that I have grown into a routine in how I go about my day. I wake up, pray and go about my day but I need to remember to stop and say “Today is your day God, use me and I am excited to see how you will move today”. Recently I have been focusing on that and let me tell you it is refreshing. When I let go of my expectations for the day and the minute to minute plan, and understand that this is the day the Lord has made I find joy and happiness throughout my day and not anguish, worry and pressure. Sure things need to get done and we all have things to do, work, school and life in general, but we need to stop and pray and thank God for the opportunity he has blessed us all with. We have woken up one more day, breathed a new breath, the least we can do is give him 5-10 minutes of our day and recognize him and all his wonders. Prayer is wonderful and we are all blessed beyond compare that we can pray freely and openly. Not everyone in this world is given that opportunity. So I challenge you to give prayer a shot, or a different perspective. We aren’t perfect, especially not me, I forget to pray sometimes, I’m human, but lets all make the extra effort to seek Him, thank Him and praise Him always.
