Mermaid Cupcakes

A friend of mine had a birthday coming up, she loves all things mermaid so I thought why not make some mermaid inspired cupcakes? I made some simple vanilla cupcakes and vanilla frosting and left it all to the decoration to make it well mermaid! I used teal and purple food coloring to create that mermaid feel. I made some just purple and just teal then mixed them both up and created a swirl like appearance and it made it look even more mermaid inspired! I found some straws at Target with seashells and starfish in fun sea like colors. I cut the straws down and stuck them in the cupckaes, added some sprinkles and boom mermaid cupcakes! Easy, simple and of course delicious!
